Feeling (not so) San Frantastic

This photo has a special place in my heart because I love the memory that comes with it. I captured it several years ago on my old Canon EOS 700D whilst attending GDC in San Francisco.

I had the afternoon free and one of my former colleagues mentioned taking the tram to the pier to see some of the sights. It was a miserable day and we stood for at least an hour in the rain, he was so apologetic about “making us” stand getting soaked. At the time I remember telling him not to worry as it was going to make for a fantastic memory and it was awesome that he suggested it… and it did. We saw so many sights, including the Golden Gate Bridge and the famous Pier 39, where this photo was taken.

We rode the famous tram, got doughnuts, two of my colleagues had bibs put on them at a seafood restaurant (I can still picture their faces), myself and another avid photographer in the group spent literal hours taking photos of the bridge until the sun had long set and I almost got bitten by a raccoon. It was just an all round wonderful afternoon.
