Färsna Sillen

An attempt to revive traditional Swedish Embroidery, this photo is of a horse named “Sillen” from a farm near where I live. His coat was a perfect canvas to explore these often-forgotten traditional styles that are steeped in incredible Swedish history. Using the traditional red on Sillen’s deep blue coat was a perfect opportunity to explore the styles found in Ingrid Eggimann-Jonsson’s book “Svenska Broderier”.
